"God, You are here with us, constantly here with us.
You are our everything, faithful and true..."
I cannot tell you how many times those words played over in my head this week. Trey reminded me of a song that we heard at Passion ATL by Charlie Hall called "Constant". It was an incredible encouragement to all of us this week. Jace suggested that we sing it as a part of our worship set at church this morning. I was initially very taken back by the idea, but we decided to take the leap and add it to the list, and I am so glad that we did. No matter where you are in your season of life, these words are so powerful to hold onto.
Update: Papa has moved from the ICU to a rehab center. The rehab center is not as close to our house as the hospital, but we are still rejoicing for this next step towards recovery! He received a feeding tube on Friday night and is slowly getting nutrition back into his body. He is still so hungry, and I don't blame him one bit! We went to visit him in the center today, visiting hours are only from 8 AM to 8 PM. I think grandma is having a hard time not even having the option of staying over night with him. Papa is such a social man who loves being surrounded with people, so we don't like leaving him alone. His speech has shown incredible improvement, he is starting to move his right arm and right leg, very small movements, but they are moving! He enjoys being able to sit up in a chair and have conversations with us. He gets very tired pretty quickly, which is understandable, but we just love being able to communicate with him.
He told me today that he still isn't able to get much sleep because they wake him up several times through out the night to check on him. I told him I would get him one of those sleeping masks to cover his eyes, so at least he can feel like it is dark, and he loved the idea! The plan is to keep him there for the next 15 days, evaluate his improvement, and make further decisions toward getting him home.
Aunts, uncles, cousins, oh my! We have been surrounded by so much family this week! Family from Virginia, Tennessee, California, and Texas! I told papa that if he wanted everyone together, there could have been a much easier way! :) Although they are gathered here for a reason that is not so wonderful, it has been great having them here. We have all had our "We are emotionally and physically exhausted, so please leave me alone!" moments, but in the end we are all glad to be together. I have been able to spend more time with this doll...!
