Beautiful 2011

Hello to all of my wonderful bloggers, I have missed you so.  Today is already the 9th day of the New Year and I cannot even begin to express my love for this year already.  I really was not looking forward to this time (which you know by previous postings) but, oh my WORD, God is so incredibly good and has so much in store for His children. I have seen Him in every detail of my life, and in every detail of those around me.

Since Christmas, I have consumed my life with packing up our house, and packing for a month trip away from home. I started the journey with my brother on January 1, and headed to Atlanta, Georgia to meet up with 22,000 other college students for a 4 day conference that focused on one thing: Jesus.  The conference was absolutely incredible. There was so much love for Jesus within that city, it was breathtaking. We got to praise the Lord with worship lead by David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and Christy Nockels. We also got to hear powerful messages from Beth Moore, Louie Giglio, Francis Chan, Andy Stanley and John Piper. Those names might not mean anything to you, but they are all people who have had a powerful influence on our culture for the name of Christ in today's world. Going into the conference, Trey and I were not feeling completely up to par, and we fought our sickness the entire time. I remember feeling so incredibly exhausted. Especially after you hear such a powerful and challenge message from each of the speakers. But it was all so incredibly worth it. We were challenged to evaluate our source. Is the source of our happiness and joy ourselves, or is it Jesus? Do we do things in our lives to make our name great and to satisfy ourselves, or to satisfy Jesus?? We were also challenged to start to think beyond what we can even imagine. To use our minds to challenge the world, and to prove how mighty and powerful the Lord really is. To not only think outside the box, but outside of anything anyone has ever thought, and to realize that the Lord has things far greater than even our minds can fathom. We were taught and challenged with so much more, and it has all been resonating in my mind for the past week.  I think it will be resonating for many more weeks to come, and I am so excited for that.

So, Tuesday afternoon we sent Trey on his way back to PHX and Jace and I got in the car and drove 9 hours to Virginia. Well, Jace drove, and I....texted :) But needless to say, we made it to the freezing cold Richmond Virginia safe and sound. Wednesday was a day of relaxation and hanging out with family. I got to see Baby Tate, who was scared to death of me and did not want to have anything to do with me at first, but eventually she warmed up! :) And Adriane is going to have a new addition to our family any day now, and I am hoping it will be sooner rather than later! :) Thursday morning I woke up while it was  still dark and headed to the airport...within a few short hours, I was in Orlando, Florida on my way to DisneyWorld :) I had quite the magical two days in Florida, and I think I have been wishing ever since that I was back. I was with incredibly wonderful people, and my heart was on cloud 9. We saw the fireworks in front of the castle and had the best steak in Florida, all in the same day. I would probably write thousands upon thousands of words telling you all about that trip, but I think I will save you all the time :)

But now here I am back in VA, freezing cold, throat hurting but feeling just so happy. I am so excited to see how the Lord is going to work, post CBU.  I have been dreading this time, but ONLY through God's goodness am I looking forward to this time now. I am so so so excited to be in VA and be around everyone here. I started reading Believing God, by Beth Moore. I will be back soon to tell you all about it :)
