What a fun weekend this ended up to be! I was so bummed out that I cancelled all my plans for that communication tournament only to have it be cancelled. But it ended up really working out!
Friday night consisted of GOOD mexican food and finding some cheap bargains at the mall! Kayla, Samantha, and I woke up early and went hiking up Mt. Rubidoux and read our Bible up at the cross. It was a truly enjoyable hike. The weather was perfect and the mountains all around us were blanketed in snow.
I then went and spent a few hours in the caf reading God's word and journaling and then did a little homework. Then I spent a few hours doing laundry and getting stuff around the apartment done. I spent most of the day alone, but it was very soothing! I really enjoyed it.
Sunday was the best day! Kayla and I woke up real early, went to starbucks and then went to church. Church was a-ma-zing! I truly enjoyed it. The message was wonderful, and I really feel like I am becoming a part of the community at Crossroads. I am starting to see people that I recognize and who recognize me. It is wonderful to finally feel a part of a church family out here. We then headed to the Shoppes in Chino Hills, ate some delicious MacNcheese at Panera and walked around enjoying the beautiful day.
Then the fun was about to start! We arrived at Katie's and all the girls piled into the car and we headed to the Honda Center to watch the PBR !!!!! Yep, I went to a rodeo :) We had our boots on and our hair big and we were ready ! I have never seen so many cowboys in LA before in my entire life !!! Ha. It was quite glorious actually.
So, my weekend turned out to be a very enjoyable time. Lots of rest, time with the Lord and continued my study in Matthew, and some fun time with my girls.
I have a feeling that a lot is going to be happening soon. The Lord is always at work and I am so excited to see what He has in store in my life and in the lives around me. I have been having lunch with a couple of girls from my FOCUS group. What incredible Godly and beautiful women! I am always so encouraged whenever I get the privilege of knowing what is going on in their lives and how the Lord is working in their hearts. Just being able to listen and see how they are maturing into amazing women of God just blesses me beyond anything I could ever imagine.
Here is a little of what I read this morning, be encouraged!
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Matthew 11:28-30
