Blessed Are The Pure In Heart.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
- Matthew 5:8

What does it mean to be pure in heart? We are all sinners, deserving to live eternally in the depths of hell. But Jesus Christ became a mortal being and died for all of those sins. Is it possible to be pure in heart? This is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I had a voice lesson today, and my vocal teacher told me something that I have been chewing on all day. She told me that I am "full of warmth and love" and that I possess "an evident pure heart". what did she mean by this? Of course, I know it wasn't an insult, but why would she see that in me? It definitely opened my eyes in a way that I give out the countenance of Christ every single day, whether I am living pure or not. Therefore, it is my DUTY to live as pure and holy as I can. I found myself walking through the halls of school today, completely oblivious to what was around me, and just talking to the Lord. I was asking the Lord for a pure heart. A pure heart in my thoughts, actions, motives, the way I looked at people, the way I smile, the way I even perform through my school work. The heart is the wellspring of life, and if that isn't pure, than what is?
The Lord promises so much for us, if we love and obey His commands. He loves us!!!
I am now going to start finding ways to purify my heart, in every action that I take and every word that I speak.
