Since the Passion Conference in Atlanta, I have been reading Beth Moore's book Believing God. I spent a good amount of time this evening going through it, and I wanted to share some of the highlights on Faith and Belief.

"I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength  he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms."
Ephesians 1:18-20

Nothing on earth compares to the strength God is willing to interject into lives caught in the act of believing.  This really made me stop and think. Am I actively believing in God, or just in the areas of my life that I know I am able to believe Him. Do I believe Him with my future, my goals, my desires? I have thought about this all evening, and I am excited for a new challenge. A challenge to become an ACTIVE true believer in this Faith thing. Faith, for me personally, is something that I think I struggle with more than I realize. I know that deep down, I tend to doubt what God can really do, or for that matter, if He is even doing something. But, being a child of His, I need to have active and confident Faith that He is alive in me and working through every moment of my life.

Here are the 5 concepts she challenges us to ingrain in our heads:

God is who He says He is.
God can do what He says He can do.
I am who God says I am.
I can do all things through Christ.
God's word is alive and active in me.

If we remind ourselves on a daily or even a moment basis of these things, and really believe them, we will be able to take comfort in knowing Who God is and what He really stands for in our life. I am excited to share more of what I am being challenged with and what I am learning through this book. Until next time...
