"Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
Colossians 4:5-6
Unless we discipline ourselves for evangelism, it is very easy to excuse ourselves from ever sharing the gospel with anyone. -Donald S. Whitney
Over the past two days I have been reading all about evangelism. As I read through my book, read through the scripture, and am now blogging, I have this intense urge to just go and tell until the whole world knows. I absolutely love it when the Holy Spirit is able to feed us in a way that we never expect. When the Lord changes our wants and our desires to that of His. I have been reading all about different ways to evangelize and ways to use YOUR specific strengths in order to reach those around you. Evangelism is an area of my Christian walk that whether I realize it or not, it is something that I think about every single day. In every action that I take, Is this showing the love of Christ?
If any of you are around the Van Camps for very long, you are able to see that evangelism is what drives our family. We absolutely love reaching out into Queen Creek and sharing the gospel to who ever will listen. More specifically, Dad and Trey are our professionals. It is always so incredible to be in a restaurant or shopping, doing everyday things, and watching them be bold in their speech and asking if the person we come across needs prayer or if they know of someone named Jesus Christ. I just love it. It is something that is not done by them, but done by the Holy Spirit that dwells within them.
But even taking a different perspective, I think about ways in which I evangelize. The Lord is so good to all of His children, and He always provides ways for them to choose Him. But as I thought about this, the Lord has given us an INCREDIBLE tool that is personal to each and every one of His children, that is probably the best tool to evangelize. This tool is our personally testimony of when we accepted the Lord into our hearts, and asked Him to become the Lord of our lives. As I think about my own personal testimony, and see where the Lord took me from and where He is leading me to, it is something that is so incredible that it would have been impossible for me to do on my own. So why am I not proclaiming Christ and simply sharing the best story I know, the story of my life, and using that in a way to evangelize and share with unbelievers.
That is all I have to blog about for now. I have so much to think about! But even better, so much to be thankful for.
